Let the small light stay.
Not the grand fire,
not the speech after,
but the hand on the gate,
the cup left warm,
the child calling from the yard,
the old ache carried gently,
the work no one sees
becoming part of the house.
Let us live that way:
near enough to mend,
awake enough to wonder.
